A worked example
Two suppliers deliver to two customers. You set the supply limits, the demand and the cost per unit. The solver finds the cheapest allocation. Supplier 1 has 30 units, supplier 2 has 20, and each customer needs 25.
| From | To | Cost per unit | Units sent | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Supplier 1 | Customer 1 | £2 | 25 | £50 |
| Supplier 1 | Customer 2 | £4 | 5 | £20 |
| Supplier 2 | Customer 1 | £3 | 0 | £0 |
| Supplier 2 | Customer 2 | £1 | 20 | £20 |
Status: optimal. Total cost £90. The status tells you if no solution exists or if the problem has no limit, instead of showing a number.
